The most infamous example is the announcement on CBS by John Charles Daly which interrupted "Wilderness Road", a program he was narrating. *August 15 – ''Gyokuon-hōsō'': Emperor Hirohito's recorded announcement of the unconditional surrender of Japan is broadcast on the radio a little after noon (Japan Standard Time). This is probably the first time an Emperor of Japan has been heard by the common people.
